It's possible, but like with any country trying to make it to the world cup, you need work with the youth players in order to develop them as top level professionals. India is a regional power in South Asia, and it would be fitting if they were at the World Cup. If India can get more players to play professionally in England, or if they can get more people excited about football/soccer, then there is a very good chance.

I don't think India canThe reason is not because India doesn't have enough talent. The probalem is football is not lucrative enough for people to seriously pursue it. There is need for more money to be pumped into the sport that it is made popular at all levels. And it should be private corporations that should do that. They wouldn't do that unless there is a good RoI on the advertisement and sponsorship. And unless there is investment the popularity of the sport will not increase. This is really a catch-22 situation. We can only hope that poeple lose interest in cricket for some reason and turn to football

India is only on progress. Right now it's too early for INDIA to play in World Cup. But in future, at least when their national team players will be replaced by new generation. But India has very good potential, huge country so their definilty some wonder kinds!

At this moment, it sounds highly improbable. There are absolutely NO Indian players playing outside of India. They are not playing against good opposition to develop their skills. More than that the problem is with their physique and stamina and they need a lot of work on that front. Most of the Indian players in the current national team are talented enough to play in any 2nd division in Europe but they are not going out and exploring.Till that starts happening it'll be very tough for India to qualify for the world cup.
